Out-of-Valley College Exploration For DHS Students!
Our Juniors continue expanding their horizons as DHS CCMR & GEAR UP teamed up for an unforgettable out-of-valley college experience!
Students had the opportunity to visit the UT Cockrell School of Engineering, where they gained hands-on exposure to petroleum and natural gas extraction and explored the real-world factors that impact fracking. They also toured the campus, explored multiple schools, and attended an admissions presentation emphasizing the importance of grades, test scores, and building a strong student profile for holistic review.
Next stop: Austin Community College — where students learned the value of understanding all postsecondary options and choosing pathways that best fit their academic goals and financial needs.
As we return to campus, our focus is clear:
✔️ Becoming TSI complete
✔️ Preparing for the ACT & SAT
✔️ Strengthening college readiness
